PH.D Esther Ciarrocchi

Education and training

Esther Ciarrocchi graduated in Physics at the University of Pisa in 2012, and received the PhD in Physics at the University of Pisa in 2016, with a thesis titled “Cerenkov luminescence imaging: a study of its quantitative capabilities”. So far, her research interests and expertise have been mainly related to the development and characterization of detectors for medical physics applications, and to the Monte Carlo simulation of radiation interactions with biological tissues and detectors.

Work experience

  • 2021-ongoing Postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Translational Research and of New Surgical and Medical Technologies of the University of Pisa within the EuCanImage consortium
  • 2019-2021 Postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Physics of the University of Pisa, within the UTOFPET project
  • 2017-2019 Postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Physics of the University of Pisa, within the EuroBioimaging research infrastructure
  • 2016-2017 Research scholarship at the Department of Physics of the University of Pisa, within the EuroBioimaging research infrastructure
