Trustworthy AI Lab at the University of Pisa

The Trustworthy AI Lab at the University of Pisa is an interdisciplinary and international research community to evaluate and discuss the use of Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare as part of the Z-Inspection® Initiative.

The laboratory specializes in the development and validation of imaging biomarkers, imaging biobanks, the implementation of AI solutions in radiology, and the implementation and application of biomedical signal processing techniqus based on AI.

The lab intends to encourage the debate and reflection on the use of Artificial Intelligence in medicine and our efforts are addressed in facing the challenges of Explainable AI, promoting high-quality, intuitive, interpretable, and ethical AI-based decisions.

The Z-Inspection® process is a validated assessment method that helps organizations deliver ethically sustainable, evidence-based, trustworthy and user-friendly AI-driven solutions. The methodology is published in IEEE Transactions on Technology and Society.
