Education and training

Dr. Gayane Aghakhanyan is a nuclear medicine physician and a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Translational Research and of New Surgical and Medical Technology, University of Pisa. She is also a visiting researcher in the Department of Nuclear Medicine, University of Leipzig, Germany (main interests – PET/MRI in neurodegenerative disorders). She obtained her PhD in Innovative Strategies in Biomedical Research at the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, Institute of Life Sciences, Pisa, Italy (2014). Her research priorities concern to nuclear neurology, neuroimaging, radiomics and applied artificial intelligence in medical imaging, graph theoretical approaches and brain connectivity.
